A straight smile is not only more attractive, but it is healthier too. When you have straight teeth, they are more likely to be evenly spaced, which means that teeth can be cleaned and maintained more easily. Crowded teeth can trap food and plaque, which can eventually lead to additional dental problems. In order to get straighter teeth, Dr. Stark at Derby Family Dentistry offers two types of orthodontics.

Also known as invisible braces, Invisalign® straightening trays are the least noticeable type of orthodontics that Derby Family Dentistry offers. These removable trays are made of a clear plastic polymer that will hardly be seen during normal use. After developing a treatment plan with our dentists, you will receive a set of trays to wear, which will gently adjust and reposition your teeth until you get the smile you wish. You will need to make return visits throughout your treatment so that new trays can be made and your smile will continue to improve.

Traditional Braces
Braces are a common orthodontic treatment that uses a series of brackets, wire, and bands to straighten your teeth. A bracket is attached to the front surface of each tooth and are connected with the bands and wire. During your treatment, you will regularly visit our team at Derby Family Dentistry for an adjustment. These adjustments will help to gradually move your teeth into their proper positions. Treatment time varies per patient, but the average treatment time with braces is about 18 months.
