The Helpful Items to Keep in Your Ortho Handbag

Posted .

As you align your smile with braces, there are times that might be a bit troubling. However, one thing that can help you during those times is an orthodontic handbag! In this handbag, our Derby Family Dentistry team recommends having the following items:

· Orthodontic wax: Orthodontic wax is extremely helpful because, oftentimes, your braces will poke and bother you. If you have the wax with you, all you need to do is put it over the section that is giving you trouble and you will feel better in a jiffy.

· Lip balm: Braces can make your lips chapped and dry, which is why lip balm can be beneficial. If your lips start to feel a little on the not-so-moist side, just apply the lip balm and you’ll be good to go!

· Orthodontic elastics: Elastics can successfully shift and change your teeth and bite, but they tend to break often, which is why it’s best to keep extras with you. When your elastic breaks during the day, just replace it with a new one and you’ll be set.

· Travel-sized oral hygiene tools: It’s important that you brush and floss your teeth after each meal and snack, but you can’t do so if you don’t have any oral hygiene tools. So, it’s best to keep a small toothbrush, toothpaste, and packet of floss in your bag so you can take care of your smile throughout the day.

These four items can help you whenever you need it, and they can make your orthodontic experience more successful and trouble-free! If you have any questions or if you would like to know about additional items to put in your bag, please remember that you can always call 316-788-4000 and talk to our friendly orthodontic team.
